We joined the Willow Oaks community in the summer of 2023. My husband of 18 years, Thomas, along with my sister, Joyce, and her daughter, Samantha, quickly discovered Willow Oaks in our search. All it took was one visit to the neighborhood to experience the feeling that is Willow Oaks. We all felt it’s the perfect place to create a home together. It’s hard to put into words but I think you all know what I’m talking about. I’ve lived in the Hampton Roads area for most of my life. With 25 years in the hospitality industry, being involved in the community has always been a part of life, so when I found out WORA needed help it was a given. I’m looking forward to working with everyone to maintain and improve Willow Oaks for all of us now and in the future.
I bought my house in Willow Oaks December 2010 because it was in the Kecoughtan school district. I loved the established neighborhood, walkability (I love a sidewalk), and proximity to the park, grocery store, and my work. My brick rancher was everything I was looking for and I've loved the neighborhood ever since.
I actually grew up here in Hampton (go Crabbers!). I married my high school sweetheart who was in the Air Force and we moved to Japan after I graduated. We eventually landed in Alaska where I lived and finished my degree (go Seawolves!) until he got stationed back on the East Coast. We are divorced, but always put parenting first. Family is important to us and we are fortunate to have all our children living in Virginia.
My time as a military spouse taught me a love of service and importance of being connected to your community. After I moved back to Hampton, I went to work for the City and I love being an integral part of my community. When I saw that the Board was having a hard time finding a volunteer for the Treasurer position, I knew I could help. Establishing budgets and contracts is part of my everyday life. ] My children are grown, but I have fantastic neighbors with young children that are using the pool, on the swim team, and enjoying our beautiful community.
It takes a lot of time and work to have a nice community and it's expensive to have an operating pool. I look forward to working with my fellow board members and this wonderful community in order to contribute and keep it a wonderful place to live and play.

Myself, husband and 3 kids have lived here since 2004. We moved here for the neighborhood charm and schools. We have not been disappointed. I joined to the board to help keep Willow Oaks a desired neighborhood in Hampton. We love our neighbors and community!

My wife and 4 kids have lived here in Willow Oaks since 2017. We moved in at the end of the year just before Christmas. I am originally from Iowa and my wife, Mallory, is from Illinois. We met in Alaska while I was stationed there. I served 13 years in the US Army and Mallory is a 7 year Navy Veteran.
We got involved with the board to help make our community better and more engaging. We are very proud to live here in such a happy community with people who care for one another. It is important we keep up our little slice of Hampton full of life and community. Our neighbors should always be some of our best support for one another.
I look forward to serving as your vice president and seeing everyone pool side.
